Better Together: Bring Your Community into the Genesis Network

Do you have a vision for shared life, but feel like you’re building on your own?

Starting a missional community is a beautiful, demanding calling. It’s easy for the fire of a new house church or intentional community to flicker when faced with administrative burdens, leadership isolation, or the "messiness" of life together.

Genesis Communities exists to be the soil that helps local "demonstration plots" of the Kingdom thrive. We provide the relational and organizational canopy that allows individual houses to focus on what matters most: loving God and loving their neighbors.

Why Join the Genesis Umbrella?

When your community joins our network, you aren't "merging" into a corporation; you are joining a family of houses committed to a shared way of life.

  • Shared Wisdom & Encouragement: Don’t lead in a vacuum. Connect with other house leaders for regular "Check-ins," prayer, and shared learning to navigate the tough seasons of communal life.

  • The Power of the Covenant: You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You gain access to our foundational Genesis Covenant—a time-tested framework for faith, simplicity, and purity that protects the health of your community.

  • Administrative Peace of Mind: As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Genesis provides the "legal and fiscal roots" (like donation processing and oversight) so you can focus on the "fruit" of your ministry.

  • A Unified Mission, A Unique Identity: We believe every neighborhood needs a different flavor of the Gospel. Whether you are a "Greenhouse" for apprentices or a "Seed House" for neighborhood renewal, you keep your unique branding and local "Rule of Life."

Is Your Community a Fit?

We are looking for groups of 3 or more who are ready to move from "co-living" to "covenantal life." We invite communities who are:

  1. Christ-Centered: Committed to the Way of Jesus as outlined in the Genesis Covenant.

  2. Missionally Minded: Eager to be a "Demonstration Plot" of the Kingdom in your specific neighborhood.

  3. Relationally Accountable: Willing to participate in the wider Genesis family through monthly potlucks and leadership huddles.

Bring Your Community into the Genesis Family

Genesis is more than a name; it is a shared way of life. We believe that intentional communities thrive when they are rooted in a common covenant and connected to a wider body of believers.

Whether you are starting a new house or leading an existing one, there are two primary ways to partner with the Genesis Network.

1. Member Communities

A Member Community is a local "house" that is legally, financially, and missionally part of the Genesis Communities non-profit.

  • Legal & Fiscal: You operate under the Genesis 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Member shared contributions and donations are processed through and accountable to our central bookkeeping, and you are covered by our organizational oversight.

  • Housing: Housing is offered for non-commercial purposes as an extension of our religious mission. Occupancy is a programmatic benefit for those who are members of the Genesis order and in active alignment with our Covenant.

  • Deep Accountability: Your house leadership works closely with the Genesis Board. You fully adopt the Genesis Covenant and provide regular updates on the spiritual and physical health of your household.

  • Best For: Missional houses without their own legal structure, or communities looking for a shared "umbrella" to provide long-term stability and administrative support.

2. Affiliate Communities

An Affiliate Community is an independent intentional community that aligns with the Genesis Covenant and values, but maintains its own separate legal and financial identity.

  • Legal & Fiscal: You maintain your own EIN, your own bank accounts, and your own insurance. You manage your "rent" or shared expenses independently of the Genesis non-profit and provide annual budgets to the Genesis Board.

  • Relational Connection: You are a full member of our relational network. A representative is invited to the Genesis Board for prayer, wisdom, and mutual encouragement.

  • Covenant Alignment: While independent, you formally adopt the Genesis Overarching Covenant as a foundational document for your house life.

  • Best For: Established house churches or intentional communities that already have their own legal/financial structures but don't want to "do life alone."
